House Rules

Most options available from official Wizard’s of the Coast publications (rule books and Dragon) are acceptable for character generation. Exceptions are noted below. Make sure you use the latest updates from Wizards of the Coast.

Players get their choice of expertise feat for free: Weapon Expertise (PHB2), Implement Expertise (PHB2), or Versatile Expertise (PHB3).

Players get their choice of defense bonus feats for free: at paragon level, either Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes, Great Fortitude, or Paragon Defenses (PHB2); at epic level, either Epic Will, Epic Reflexes, Epic Fortitude, or Robust Defenses (PHB2).

Players can choose general background benefits only. Background benefits from other campaign settings, including Scales of War, are not allowed.

Most character options, including divinity feats and paragon paths, from other campaign settings (i.e. Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Dark Sun, etc.) are permissible. But they may need to be re-flavored to fit our campaign setting.

Can I choose a Dragonmark feat from the Eberron Player’s Guide?

Yes, however, there is no Dragonic prophecy nor are there Dragonmark houses. Basically they are strange, magical birthmarks, and to have one is very rare.

Can I choose the evil or chaotic evil alignment for my player character?
